Blade oscillation mechanism for aerodynamic damping measurements at high reduced frequencies

چکیده
Accurate prediction of aerodynamic damping is essential for flutter and forced response analysis turbomachinery components. Reaching a high level confidence in numerical simulations requires that the models have been validated against experiments. Even though number test cases established over past decades, there still lack suitable detailed data can be used validation purposes particular when it comes to aero at reduced frequencies which more relevant context analysis. A new transonic cascade rig, currently undergoing commissioning KTH, has designed with goal provide blade surface unsteady pressure compressor blades profiles oscillating frequencies. The paper provides an overview actuation system employed rig presents result series bench tests characterizing vibration amplitudes achieved this system.

Effect of Reduced Frequency on the Unsteady Aerodynamic Performance of a Wind Turbine Blade Section
The blades of wind turbines are the most important parts in producing power output. In this study, a section of a 660 KW wind turbine blade will be installed in Iran in near future was tested in a wind tunnel. In addition to steady tests, various unsteady tests including the effects of reduced frequency, mean angle of attack, and amplitudes were carried out. The preliminary results show strong ...

متن کاملPermittivity Measurements of High Dielectric Constant Films at Microwave Frequencies
We have developed a time-domain reflectometry (TDR) technique to measure the dielectric permittivity of high dielectric constant films. The test specimen consists of a planar capacitor terminating coaxial waveguide. The complex permittivity of the dielectric in the frequency domain is obtained from appropriate analysis of the incident and the reflected voltage waves. In order to improve accurac...
متن کاملSimulations of Aerodynamic Damping for MEMS Resonators
Aerodynamic damping for MEMS resonators is studied based on the numerical solution of Boltzmann-ESBGK equation. A compact model is then developed based on numerical simulations for a wide range of Knudsen numbers. The damping predictions are compared with both Reynold equation based models and several sets of experimental data. It has been found that the structural damping is dominant at low pr...
متن کاملThe Torsional Oscillations of Airscrew Blades at Low Mean Incidences
An attempt is made to explain the observed torsional oscillations of an airscrew by means of the 'wake' theory. It is shown that the aerodynamic torsional damping becomes negative at certain blade angles and frequencies; the frequencies, or speeds, at which a single blade becomes unstable are shown to differ slightly from the critical frequencies of a multi-blade airscrew. At low incidences it ...
